Beth Rubley BSc (Hons) MSMA

Beth graduated from The University of Northampton with a first class honours degree in Sport & Exercise Science and then chose to study Sports Massage Therapy at Royal Leamington Spa College (WCG). After qualifying as a professional therapist, Beth started her sports massage business in 2015 and became a member of The Sports Massage Association (SMA). As part of the SMA, Beth had opportunity to work with the NSPCC runners at The London Marathon in 2017, 2018 & 2019, providing much-needed treatments. She hopes to continue working at The London Marathon after the pandemic. It was in 2017 that Beth trained and qualified in pregnancy massage, enabling her to support clients through their 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Beth started her work in elite sport in 2017 when she was introduced to and began working with the PGMOL, elite football match officials, treating the referees and assistants (premiership and championship) at training camps and match days. Beth hopes to continue her work in professional football for years to come as she develops as a therapist. 

Career Highlights

2017 - Beth was introduced to and started working with PGMOL, providing sports massage therapy to the elite premiership and championship match officials at training camps and at match days at The King Power Stadium, home of Leicester City FC. 
2018 - Beth worked with the elite match officials, providing sports massage therapy, at the Women's FA cup final at Wembley Stadium. Beth did this again for the 2021 cup final. 
2018 - Beth and her co-authors from The University of Northampton had their research accepted and published in The Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports. "Stretch imposed on active muscle elicits positive adaptations in strain risk factors and exercise-induced muscle damage", Scandinavian Journal Of Medicine & Science in Sports. November 2018. 28 (11) 2299-2309
2021 - Beth provided sports massage therapy for New Zealand's National Women's rugby team, The Black Ferns, prior to their game against England's Roses at Franklin's Gardens.
2021 - Beth worked the UEFA Champions League match, Liverpool FC vs Porto FC at Anfield Stadium, providing sports massage therapy for the international match officials. 
2022 - Beth worked with UEFA as a sports massage therapist for the elite domestic & international referees for the UEFA Women's Euros 2022, held in England. Beth completed a 6 day workshop in Turkey and then 3 weeks in Reading at referee base camp with all of the match officials, assisting with training and providing sports massage for recovery, game preparation and injury prevention. 
2023 - Beth was appointed by the FA to work the first UEFA-CONMEBOL Women's Finalissima at Wembley Stadium, England vs Brazil, providing sports massage therapy for the international (French & Swiss) match officials.
2023 - Beth was appointed to Aston Villa FC to work with the professional match officials, providing sports massage therapy on home match days.
